It is with a heavy heart that we announce the retirement of Dr. Ton and the closure of
Consultants in Pain Medicine effective end of business on December 31, 2024. This decision
was not made lightly, and we want to express our deepest gratitude for the trust you have
placed in us over the years.
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital along with Sentara Medical Group have made the
decision to take over the physical space that we currently utilize. Sentara Medical Group has
indicated to us that they will recruit a physician and operate a pain management unit in the
current space. This will be a separate practice, with physician(s) contracted by Sentara Medical
Group. We do not have details on that at the current time, but will post that information in the
office, as well as on our website as it becomes available: https://consultantsinpainmedicine.com
Your options for further care are as follows:
1. You may continue your care with the physician contracted by Sentara Medical Group.
2. You may transfer your care to another pain physician. If you would like your records
transferred to a new healthcare provider, please provide us with their contact information, and
we will facilitate the transfer.
3. You may have your primary care physician provide you with recommendations for further
care.
Your medical records will remain on the EPIC system that we have been utilizing. If you wish to
obtain them, they will be available at any time using My Chart or by contacting the medical
records department at 757-507-7110. There is no urgency in obtaining your records as they will
be stored in the EPIC system indefinitely.
We wish you continued health, happiness, and regret any inconvenience this may cause.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ton & Staff
